On Tuesday 16 April the Public Petitions Committee accepted petition PE1469 by Aileen Jackson on neighbour notification distances for wind turbine applications and took evidence from Aileen and SAS Chair Graham Lang.

You can read Graham Lang’s submission at:

The MSPs asked probing questions which Aileen and Graham had no problem with, and seemed largely sympathetic. Indeed several of them shared their own experience of finding that the first they knew of a neighbour’s turbine application was when it suddenly appeared in the next door field.

The next stage is that the Committee will call on the Scottish Government for a response and Aileen will be invited back to give further evidence to the Committee in the light of this.

Well done Aileen. You did a great job last week and I’m sure that the appropriate changes will be made having listened to the committee members comments during the session

Congratulations

George
