WHAT makes Ian Moir (Letters, May 8) think that an independent Scotland
would disconnect from the National Grid? Every independent country in
Europe is interconnected because it is in their national interest to be so.
Mr Moir seems to envisage an independent Scotland closing the gates and
pulling up the drawbridge. That may be in the current UK mindset but I
doubt very much if many people living in Scotland subscribe to this view of
the world.
