A reminder to everyone that the Arecleoch Wind Farm Extension Inquiry (Barrhill, South Ayrshire) starts tomorrow at 1.30pm WIN-370-2 (Section 36 Wind Farm). Scotland Against Spin team member, Dr Rachel Connor has been asked to act as a public witness by third parties in regard to the Private Water Supply Risk Assessment submitted by Scottish Power Renewables and is due to give evidence on 13/14 January alongside the Environmental Health Officer for South Ayrshire Council. The webcast can be viewed at https://dpea.public-i.tv/core/portal/home
Rachel (and Tim Harrison, SAS Admin) previously gave evidence on Private Water Supplies at the Whitelee 3 Inquiry. At that Inquiry, Rachel endured an epic five hour cross examination by SPR’s lawyer, Colin Innes. Their Inquiry statement can be viewed at https://scotlandagainstspin.org/…/inquiry-statement…/
Rachel has agreed to write a short handbook explaining how to scrutinise the Private Water Supply chapter of Environmental Statements for our members and anyone else fighting a wind farm as soon as she has more time.
Graham Lang (Chairman of SAS) said: We are very proud of Rachel and thank her for all the hard work she has put in already to help people with what is a very difficult technical subject. Any further help she can give will be most welcome.
