That’s shocking! The Scottish government should be ashamed of themselves for inflicting this monster on the people of Methil. I don’t know how they could even think that this is acceptable. Can you imagine the shadow flicker, not just in people’s homes but also on the ground. I don’t care what investments have been made, the so-called authorities have no moral right to inflict this on people. Shame on the lot of you!

It’s a bit disappointing that a website calling itself ‘Scotland against spin’ uses, well, spin. The perspective in the photos is rather forced. The red-and-cream building shown is half a mile from the turbine, with the closest housing well over 500 yards from the turbine. Flicker might be a problem… for all of about two minutes at sunrise. For two houses. For a few days a year. Oh, except there’s a row of trees between the turbine and the houses. Never mind.

We have also received a response from the original photographer, which we are posting on their behalf;
• The photo was taken with a 44mm lens (Not a zoom lens).
• The photo has not been modified in any way since taken.
• The photo was taken from 911 metres from the turbine at an elevation of 31.5 metres.
• The school (the cream building) is 714 metres from the turbine at 25 metres elevation.
• The hospital is the other side of the school at 576 metres from the turbine, elevation 21 metres
• The houses are at 530 metres from the turbine at 20 metres elevation (20 meters higher than the turbine base)
• There are few trees and they wouldn’t mask a 196 metre turbine anyway.
