The area is currently under threat from a development of between 215-300 turbines, at a total height of 204 metres, to be built only 5km from the shoreline.

It depicts an accurate to scale offshore turbine, in comparison to an A380, currently being built at Hunterston for Siemens which will be a Total height 204m with the blades at 75m.
