KEITH Anderson has been promoted to the re-introduced role of chief
executive officer of electricity and gas company ScottishPower, which is
owned by Iberdrola of Spain.

Mr Anderson, 53, had previously combined the roles of chief corporate
officer of ScottishPower and chief executive of the Glasgow-based utility’s
renewables operation.

Lindsay McQuade, 41, previously director of policy and innovation, will
assume responsibility for managing ScottishPower Renewables in the UK as
its new chief executive.

She will oversee a portfolio of more than 40 windfarm sites, which generate
in excess of two gigawatts of renewable energy, and will be responsible for
new project development.

Mr Anderson will have ultimate responsibility for all ScottishPower
businesses. He will also be responsible for the “leadership of
ScottishPower internally and externally”, the utility said.

He will continue to sit on ScottishPower’s board.

ScottishPower said Mr Anderson’s appointment “does not otherwise change the
formal governance of the company”.

Mr Anderson said: “Just last week Iberdrola announced a major global
investment plan over the next five years, with more than €6 billion
(£5.3bn) set to be invested in the UK. We will be delivering this
investment in renewables, networks and customer service at a time when the
political and regulatory environment in the UK is as challenging as it has
ever been.

“In the role of CEO, I will be working hard to ensure that all of our
business areas can continue to deliver for our customers, while our major
investments help to develop a smarter and cleaner energy system for the UK.”
