Farr Wind Farm Development extension of life – application

Ventient are the owners and operators of Farr Wind Farm which comprises 40 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 2.3 MW providing an overall installed capacity of 92 MW. The wind farm has been operational since December 2005 and the current Section 36 planning consent expires in December 2030.

Ventient are currently exploring the possibility of submitting a Section 36 variation to Condition 3.1 of the existing planning permission (Ref: 02/00871/S36IN). A Section 36 variation application would allow the continuation of operations rather than decommissioning after the consented 25 years. No changes to existing turbines or infrastructure are proposed and the aim is to secure the required consent prior to the end of Quarter 3 2020.
