If you’ve already bet the house on heavily subsidised and unreliable wind and solar and the economic oblivion that follows, there’s probably no reason to shift course. Including the global recession that’s followed as a consequence of the coronavirus lockdowns.
As the adage goes, it’s easier to dupe someone than it is to convince them that they’ve been duped.
Bureaucrats and boffins have spent the last 20 years convincing us and our political betters that wind and solar power are not only reliable, but that they’re cheap, too.
Plenty of bought into the lie. So, why not perpetuate it?
The premise is that, notwithstanding rocketing power prices and unstable grids, throwing more subsidies at chaotically intermittent wind and solar will, somehow, drag us out of the economic slump that’s gripped the world.
