Vattenfall has unveiled proposals for a new 26-turbine wind farm at Musdale, south east of Oban in Scotland.

Scoping documents have been filed with the Scottish government outlining up-to-200-metre hardware for the up-to-156MW project.

Local consultation on the plans will start from 8 December and last for two months, including a virtual village hall consultation.

Vattenfall’s UK onshore wind development director Frank Elsworth said: “New onshore wind is the cheapest way to generate electricity and Musdale can play a major part in helping Scotland to achieve net zero by 2045.

“Vattenfall wants to work with the local community and businesses to explore how we can create opportunities and benefits for the local area through community investment, skills development, jobs and employment.”

Vattenfall senior project manager Alison Daugherty added: “We want to discuss our plans with the local community early, so that they can influence the design of the project and discuss the opportunities that the wind farm could create locally.”

Submission of a Section 36 planning application to Scottish Ministers is expected towards the end of 2021  .https://renews.biz/64553/vattenfall-unveils-156mw-scottish-wind-project/
