As mentioned on previous occasions, SAS have had discussions with the Scottish Government in the past regarding equal rights with the English to veto wind farm developments where there is lack of community support. As a number of our letters have been published in the Scotsman in the last month on this subject (see five of these below) and Graham Lang, our Chairman, has now written to the Minister to indicate we would like to reopen discussions on the matter given the strength of feeling amongst our members throughout the country, we have decided to take it a step further. We are in the process of submitting a public petition to the Scottish Parliament. Petitions can take a while to go through the process so we thought it was best to make a move now. We will be asking for your support in the coming months once the petition is published.  Aileen Jackson was successful with her Petition on neighbour notification (it took two years to go through the process between 2013-2015) so there is always some hope.   https://scotlandagainstspin.org/2015/06/public-engagement-for-sub-20mw-wind-turbine-proposals-good-practice-guidance/
