Councillors are being recommended to raise objections with Scottish Ministers over an application for adding another eight turbines to the Harestanes Windfarm at Ae Forest.
They would be sited in front of the landmark summit of Queensberry and in the view of officials would impact adversely on the setting of The Inventory Garden and Designed Landscape of Raehills.
A report for councillors at tomorrow’s planning applications committee meeting in Dumfries describes the extension plans as “inappropriately large scaled and lit development”.
It also warns that “the scale, layout, design and location of the development as proposed, would give rise to harmful landscape and visual impacts” with “dominant daytime features across the skyline backdrop of Mid Annandale and the northern Torthorwald Ridge”.
The report also states the extra turbines would “significantly increase the perception of windfarms within the back-drop landscape of Annandale when seen in combination with Harestanes, Minnygap and Dalswinton windfarms”.  https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/local-news/dumfries-galloway-councillors-recommended-object-33508862?fbclid=IwY2xjawE6dSlleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHQCV6zfyffnGn_mwE8lZtHIVV95HMEBVEigRPLhR3vL3f5IFP5Si04fJhQ_aem_MpTlisVz59fLbDWTE7lzIw
