PLANS for an 11-turbine windfarm on the Kintyre Peninsula have been given
the go ahead after an independent reporter overturned the local council’s
decision to turn down the project.

The Freasdail scheme, near the hamlet of Whitehouse, had faced objections
from the community council.

Neil Martin of developer RES said: “Freasdail Wind Farm is located within a
Proposed Area of Search for wind turbines and we are delighted with the
decision by the Scottish Government. We have sensitively designed the
project and demonstrated that the wind farm would have no significant
effects on local people, the local environment or local wildlife.”
