Were turbines behind power cut? – Press and Journal

More questions have been raised about a possible link between wind energy
and the major power cut which blacked out more than 200,000 properties
across the north last week.

The widespread power outage which affected homes from Fort William to
Orkney and Moray to the Western Isles has been tracked to a mysterious
fault somewhere on the high voltage line between Inverness and Keith.

Scottish Hydro Electric Power Distribution (SHEPD) initial indications
point a transient fault caused by objects such as debris, birds or
lightning striking the cables, but so far they have been unable to pinpoint
where this happened.
