Carbon Free Developments Limited (CFD), who own a 72% share of the Neilston
Community Windfarm, have gone into voluntary liquidation.

The renewable energy company own the windfarm in partnership with Neilston
Development Trust (NDT), who own a 28% share.

NDT is a registered charity whose members raised considerable capital to
invest in the renewable energy venture in order to benefit from tax-free
profits.

Local residents will now be concerned about the future of that investment
and the effect on NDT, particularly as figures reveal the average output of
the windfarm, from May 2013 to March 2014, was only 20.23 % – well below
the anticipated 38 %.

CFD went into Members Voluntary Liquidation on 3rd January 2014, although
the situation has only just become public knowledge.

West of Scotland MSP Jackson Carlaw expressed his concern by stating on his
website: “I intend to write to the appointed liquidators to clarify this
situation and try and ensure the best result for the local community.”
