I sometimes wonder about so-called environmentalists’ judgment in
particular about the proposed wind turbines around the Moor of Rannoch (“I
detest way wind farms besmirch landscape”, Alan Taylor, The Herald, October 1).
During my long career in exploration geophysics around the world I have
had, on too many occasions, to work and live in areas where the scenery was
miserable, devoid of merit and often desolate. But those are attractive
compared to the Moor of Rannoch whose scenery of such utter desolation,
even in summer, has no equal.
Wind farms might improve it.
