Those faced with Section 36 applications will be pleased to know that the Scottish Government Energy Consents and Deployment Unit (ECDU) has developed an online facility which went live on 29th April 2015. It is very much like the Directorate of Planning and Environmental Appeals (DPEA) website and now third parties can access documents relating to around 40 live Section 36 cases.

This has been a very long time coming and SAS were delighted to be stakeholders in the process that has delivered the website.

This increase in openness and transparency is to be welcomed.

Anyone with any queries about their own particular case or cases can contact Econsents_Admin@scotland.gsi.gov.uk
