Subsidies are inequitable – Herald (letters)

IT is galling to hear politicians like SNP complaining about effects of
Government austerity measures on people-s lives when one of biggest costs
we have to face is higher-than-necessary increases to our electricity bills
caused by SNP policy on renewables such as wind and solar-generated power.

The subsidies we pay towards these methods of generating our electricity
create more hardship for the poor in our country because they affect
everyone across the board, no matter how low their income.
