SCOTTISH Renewables will hold its annual Offshore Wind Conference in
Glasgow for the first time this year, on 26 January. The event will be held
in partnership with the UK Government-backed Offshore Renewable Energy
Catapult technology and innovation centre, which is based in the city.
Lindsay Roberts, Senior Policy Manager at Scottish Renewables, said:
“Glasgow is establishing itself as a recognised centre of excellence for
offshore renewable energy, and is the location of choice for ORE Catapult
and many of the industry’s major players, which contributed to Scottish
Renewables’ decision to move the event from Aberdeen for the first time.”
Conference speakers will include David Reetham, head of engineering at
Siemens Wind Power Great Britain and Ireland, and Karl Smith, fund managing
director at the UK Green Investment Bank. Topics for discussion include
cost reduction and project financing.
