A company has failed in its legal bid to overturn Energy Minister Fergus
Ewing’s refusal to grant planning permission for a 34-turbine wind farm.

Glenmorie Wind Farm Limited was denied consent for the scheme near Bonar
Bridge in Sutherland in August 2014.

Lawyers for the firm argued at the Court of Session in Edinburgh that Mr
Ewing acted incorrectly.

But judge Lady Wise said Glenmorie Wind Farm Limited had failed in its
challenges to the minister’s decision.

Mr Ewing had agreed with the findings of a public inquiry reporter who
concluded the proposal would cause “unacceptable landscape and visual impacts”.

Opponents of the wind farm included Highland Council, the Mountaineering
Council of Scotland and the John Muir Trust.
