Billionaire’s ex-solicitors back turbine campaigners
USA presidential hopeful Donald Trump’s former soliocitors have written to Barrhead’s local authority over noisy wind turbines.
Edinburgh based legal heavy weights Balfour and Manson submitted a letter to East Renfrewshire Council on behalf of Uplawmoor residents.
It is claimed wind farms in the area are causing a 24 hour nuisance to local residents.
While no legal action has been undertaken at present, members of the community have reached their wits end and Balfour and Manson has stepped in to represent them. ERC told the News it would carry out an investigation.
The legal firm was hired by the billionaire US presidential hopeful in his battle with the Scottish Government over windfarms off the coast of Aberdeenshire where the Tycoon’s prestigious golf resort is located.
Aileen Jackson, an anti-turbine campaigner from Uplawmoor said “There have obviously been a number of complaints over the years about cumulative noise from all of the turbines up here. ERC has finally decided to investigate the matter.”
A spokesman for ERC said “The council has received an enquiry on behalf of a resident in Uplawmoor in relation to this matter. In response to this enquiry, a noise consultant has been appointed in order to undertake the necessary noise assessment. The council will engage direct with the resident in relation to these arrangements”.
