E.ON to no longer progress with Moriston Wind Farm project

After careful consideration E.ON has made the decision not to progress with the proposed 18 turbine Moriston Wind Farm, near Fort Augustus in the Scottish Highlands. Following a detailed review of the project including feedback from both consultees including the planning authority and Scottish Natural Heritage, as well as the environmental information already collected, E.ON has considered the site unsuitable for a wind farm development.

We wish to pass on our thanks to the local community for their patience on this project and for the valuable input their feedback provided. E.ON continues to invest in onshore wind which we believe has an important role to play in meeting the UK’s 2020 renewable targets and remains one of the cheapest low carbon technologies available. We have a portfolio of 12 onshore wind projects in various stages of development in Scotland, as well as 15 fully operational sites in the UK.
