ETSU-R-97, the wind turbine noise assessment method used in the UK for planning purposes, has remained unchanged since 2006. It has, however, been heavily criticised, by some, throughout its life. Nothing has changed on the basic methodology it applies or the ‘limits’ based approach it advocates including the actual limits themselves.
