The following new planning appeals and/or applications for new Scottish
wind turbine developments under S.36 have been made recently to the
Scot-Govt energy consents department:
E.On – one of the Big Six British energy providers – wants to build the
19-turbine Golticlay wind farm in the Highlands with a proposed generating
capacity of up to 64.6 MW. However, it has applied for permission to build
a total of 47 turbines, each with a maximum blade-height of 130 metres.
Edinburgh-based Brookfield Energy Partners have applied for permission to
build a 50MW-capacity wind farm at Bachan Burn in Argyllshire, comprising
17 turbines.
Meanwhile, the Ecotricity Group – the all-renewable energy supplier – has
withdrawn its plans for a new wind farm in the Borders. The Inch Moor wind
park would have had a generating capacity of up to 51MW from the proposed
16-turbine development.
