SCOTTISH Water has declared that it generated enough electricity from
renewable sources to power 11,200 homes last year.

Figures revealed in the utility’s 2016 Sustainability Report highlight that
37 gigawatt hours of electricity were created by dozens of renewable energy
projects.

The report also flagged that the utility reduced its carbon emissions by
3.5 per cent last year. It added that it has cut emissions by 16 per cent
lower since 2006/07.
The figures were disclosed after Scottish Water unveiled a £9 million deal
to boost its solar energy projects at 24 sites across the country.
