If you are interested in taking part in this  documentary, please contact Graham Lang at SAS.

Hi Graham,

I hope this email finds you well and thank you for your time on the phone.

As I mentioned, I am a Producer at the London based film production company Ridley Scott Associates. We are currently producing an exciting, new short documentary project for online distribution that is being sponsored by a well known alcohol brand and we are looking for contributors to feature in the documentary. I am searching for a few people who have been campaigning against wind farms and I found out about your organisation online and I was wondering if you, or anyone else in your network might be interested in appearing in the film.

We are looking for articulate people who oppose wind farms for a variety of reasons who would like to get their knowledge and opinion to a wider audience – to talk directly to people outside their communities, social media feeds and “echo chambers”.

2016 has shown that Britain is made up of ever diversifying opinions and in the film we are looking to explore the tapestry of British life across all cultures and social strata. We will be showing members of the public who hold articulate and interesting views on science, politics, religion and social issues. I am particularly interested in featuring the opinions of Wind Farm campaigners as I think there is a really interesting conversation to be had about our approach to energy policy in the UK, and how this shapes our society.

Ridley Scott Associates has a back catalogue of thought provoking, documentaries that bring people together in empowered and positive ways. These include Academy and Bafta award winning Kevin MacDonald’s “Life in Day” which then bred the international, user generated “In a Day” series (Britain in a Day, India in a Day etc). We have made powerful branded content pieces with important social commentary such as Persil’s acclaimed campaign: “Free the Kids”. For cinema, we have produced well-loved music documentaries such as the fans love letter: “Springsteen and I” and the ground breaking Chemical Brother’s Concert Film: “Don’t Think”

I am really keen to talk to people involved in grassroots campaign groups, to find out about their communities and the people behind the campaigns – how our past environments have led to our current life purpose and world view.

The project will involve 2 days filming in London on 13th February 2017 and the first week of March. The first days filming will be a stand alone interview. The 2nd day’s filming will involve participation with other contributors and will involve a number of tasks, activities and workshops. Financial compensation will be paid for involvement in the film, as will travel expenses and accommodation where needed. We are casting contributors over the age of 25, nationwide.

Please feel free to pass my email on to anyone you think might be suitable. It would be fantastic to have a phone chat to discuss this project with you further.

Many thanks for your assistance.
