MPs on the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) Committee have published the written evidence received as part of their inquiry into ‘Leaving the EU: negotiation priorities for energy and climate change policy’.

The BEIS Committee has received 35 submissions of written evidence. The Committee will also consider around 130 submissions of written evidence received by the former Energy and Climate Change (ECC) Committee as part of two inquiries that it launched prior to machinery of Government changes in July 2016.

At its public session on 25 January, the BEIS Committee will hear from Centrica’s Regulation and Strategy Director, Paul Hallas, National Grid’s Director of System Operations,Phil Sheppard, and Director of Business Development, Ian Graves, and Engie UK’s Director of Strategy and Communications, Kevin Dibble.
The session will focus on the security of the UK’s energy supply and cross-border trading.
This will include arrangements for energy trading with Europe, the current and future role of cross-border interconnectors in security of electricity and gas supplies, governance of cross-border trading by the European Network Codes and particular challenges for Northern Ireland.
