RENEWABLE energy firm Burcote Wind has restated its commitment to
Machrihanish-based wind tower manufacturer, CS Wind, potentially
safeguarding up to 60 jobs.

The company has said CS Wind will be the preferred partner for the Creggan
Wind Farm near Glenbarr, which will see it procure towers from CS Wind,
providing that the company meets certain conditions.

CS Wind will also be given a five per cent price advantage over other
potential bidders in an attempt to increase orders and safeguard local jobs.

Korean-owned CS Wind, which was known as Wind Towers Scotland (WTS), before
its acquisition by Korean firm CS Wind, informed workers in February that
up to 60 jobs could be lost due to lack of orders.

Burcote had previously agreed to offer WTS the chance to supply wind towers
for its projects in the UK.
