Please find attached, (below) the stop and enforcement notices issued by East Ayrshire Council for Sneddon Law windfarm.
An enforcement notice takes 28 days to come into effect, so to stop any further unauthorised activity which may lead to damage of private water supplies, the Council have also issued a stop notice.

This means all work must cease, with the exception of any work which allows compliance with the requirements of condition 36 (eg. putting in replacement water supplies of adequate quantity and quality where specified in the condition).

The enforcement notice comes into force on 8th September. It will remain in place until the Council considers that the terms of condition 36 have been met. Condition 36 of the consent for this windfarm is there to protect existing private water supplies and to provide alternative water supplies either before any development starts, or if alternative water supplies are needed if existing supplies are contaminated or disrupted during or after construction or during any preliminary ground investigations.

So if you see any other unauthorised activity on site, please report this to the Council’s enforcement Officer: Tom.Dickie@east-ayrshire.gov.uk as this is then a criminal offence.
