International (Biennial) Conference on Wind Turbine Noise https://www.windturbinenoise.eu/…/9-wind-turbine-noise…/
In 2015, SAS members displayed our Stand at the Noise Conference when it was held in Glasgow  https://www.windturbinenoise.eu/…/2-wind-turbine-noise…/
We thoroughly enjoyed four days of manning the Stand, attending presentations, discussions, meeting people from all around the world and stealing what was left of the delicious buffets at the Radisson Blu Hotel (we had been given a really good deal which didn’t include food!). Even those who you would not expect to be sympathetic to our cause, came over to talk to us and make us feel welcome.
Unfortunately we were unable to attend the conferences in Rotterdam in 2017 and Lisbon in 2019 but when we heard the 2021 Conference was to be held in Dublin we thought we had a chance of making it! Sadly Covid put a stop to that but the good news is that it will still go ahead as an e-Conference in May this year.
Aileen Jackson (SAS team member) and Rosemary Milne (SAS supporter) will be taking part. Both ladies have ample experience of noise nuisance having successfully pursued private noise nuisance cases themselves using the Environmental Protection Act 1990, s. 82. https://scotlandagainstspin.org/…/successful-noise…/
This year there won’t be a SAS Stand but Aileen and Rosemary will be giving a talk about their experience of living beside noisy turbines and the associated problems.
We’ll give you more information closer to the Conference but in the meantime if anyone (who hasn’t already done so) wants to share their own story of living with turbine noise, please get in touch. There are a number of personal stories on our website from people who have won their battles and Jack Pease highlighted some in his Noise Bulletin (written before the Milnes won their court case). https://scotlandagainstspin.org/…/noise-bulletin…/
