Douglas Ross has vowed to tackle the “culture of secrecy” at the heart of Nicola Sturgeon’s government amid growing fears over wasted public cash.
The Scottish Tory leader will today unveil new plans for an “Open the Books Bill” to boost financial transparency in the Nationalist administration.
Mr Ross said the move to be unveiled at his party’s conference in Aberdeen would help deliver better value for taxpayers.
Tories have recently challenged her to reject her coalition partner’s “extremist” anti-growth ideology by backing a new wave of North Sea drilling and nuclear power amid a growing energy crisis.
