Glentaggart Wind Limited is conducting a second public consultation event on a proposal to construct a wind farm development with a capacity of up to 42 megawatts and a tip height of up to 250 metres, approximately 9km north west of Abington, South Lanarkshire and 13km east of Muirkirk, East Ayrshire. The closest settlement to the proposed wind farm would be Glespin. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, alternative ways for consulting with the public are required. The Town and Country Planning (Miscellaneous Temporary Modifications) (Coronavirus) (Scotland) Regulations 2021 temporarily suspended the statutory requirement for a public event as part of the pre-application consultation process.

On this basis a second ‘virtual’ public consultation event relating to the proposal will be held on Thursday 24th March 2022 (4pm to 6pm) via Zoom. To register your attendance at this exhibition please email glentaggartcomments®

or call 07976 560218.

This event will provide further information about the project following the first public consultation event in November 2021. Members of the project team will be available to answer questions.

Attendees will have the opportunity to provide feedback about the proposals by completing a feedback form. Feedback can also be submitted online by visiting

where further information about the proposals can be found.

The final deadline for submitting comments will be Thursday 21st April 2022.

PLEASE NOTE that comments submitted at this stage are not representations to the planning authority (South Lanarkshire Council). There will be an opportunity to make representations to South Lanarkshire Council when a formal application is made. The virtual exhibition is an opportunity to comment on our plans, which may alter before a formal application is made.
