Yesterday, we received notification that there had been new submissions to our Petition. https://www.parliament.scot/…/pe1864-increase-the…
You will remember that the Planning Minister gave evidence to the Committee before Summer recess and said that the Scottish Gov had no authority to increase or abolish the 50MW threshold for renewable energy developments to allow Local Authorities to make decisions on s36 wind farms instead of Scottish Ministers.
The Minister has now admitted that he was wrong and gave the wrong information to the Committee! https://www.parliament.scot/…/2022/pe1864/pe1864_ooooo.pdf
Planning Aid Scotland has also made a submission in our defence
“We reiterate that we would welcome Scottish Government
undertaking research into how support could be provided for
communities participating in public inquiries (on windfarms and any other topic)” https://www.parliament.scot/…/2022/pe1864/pe1864_nnnnn.pdf
Two other new submission from the UK Minister of State for Energy and The Secretary of State for Scotland both state “The UK Government is always willing to engage and hold constructive
conversations with the Scottish Government on planning matters”
All looking good for the next time the Committee meet to discuss our Petition on their return to Holyrood next month.
