Plans by a developer to build turbines more than twice the size of Big Ben near Balmoral Castle have been blasted by a local MP ahead of a public consultation on the issue.

We previously hold how RES had lodged plans to construct 17 huge 820 feet turbines at Hill of Fare in Aberdeenshire, about 30 miles away from the late Queen’s favourite Scottish haunt.

They would potentially be seen 20 miles away in each direction and in four different council areas, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Angus and Moray.
