Petition PE1864: Increase the ability of communities to influence planning decisions for onshore windfarms

The Scotland Against Spin Public Petition will receive its seventh Hearing at the Scottish Parliament  when MSPs return from Summer recess at the beginning of September.

Thank you to all the Groups, Community Councils, Councillors, Individuals  and MSPs who have supported the petition with written submissions detailing their own experiences.  They can all be read by following the link to the Petition’s webpage and clicking on the + sign beside Citizen Participation and Public Petitions Committee Consideration.

These submissions obviously made an impression on the MSPs of the Committee and encouraged them to offer their support.  A very small selection is listed below:

Rachel Connor

Cllr Matthew Reiss

Andrew Chadderton

Lyndsey Ward

Aurdra Macphee

John Scott

Unfortunately,  no more submissions can be accepted other than those from the Petitioner (Aileen Jackson on behalf of SAS) or anyone formally consulted by the Committee.     However, signatures in support of the Petition are still being collected until the Petition is closed.   If you or your family, relatives or friends have not already done so, please consider adding your name before the next Hearing in September.  This can be done by following the link to the Petition’s webpage; click to read the full Petition then scroll to the bottom of the page to fill in your details.

If successful, this Petition will yield significant social benefits right across Scotland, encouraging fairness, equality and inclusivity.  It will level the uneven playing field upon which many important environmental decisions are made at present.  We need your help to make it happen.

Many thanks

The SAS Team
