A wind turbine collapsed in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany, on August 7, with residents reporting that the structure had been emitting loud noise for a week prior to its fall.
Video filmed by Thomas Schröder shows a rapidly spinning wind turbine slant downwards before snapping and falling to the ground. The blades of the turbine are seen broken into fragments and scattered across the field.
Schröder, who lives on a farm close to the turbine, told Storyful that the structure had been noisy ever since a thunderstorm impacted the area one week ago.
“A lightning strike must have hit the turbine because from that time on the wind turbine made very loud noises. These increased daily,” Schröder said. https://uk.news.yahoo.com/wind-turbine-northern-germany…
