Twynholm Community Council is to hold a public meeting on a proposal for a wind farm development partly sited within its boundaries.
Seven turbines up to 180m high, plus a network of connecting and access roads, are being envisaged under developers Wind2’s Lairdmannoch Energy Park,
The project also includes a further two turbines, a sub-station, solar panel arrays and a battery storage facility earmarked for adjoining land within Tongland and Ringford Community Council’s area.
TCC members met on Thursday to discuss and plan its response to the scheme.
Speaking after the meeting, convener Jean Adams said: “It was agreed to await publication of details of the planning proposal for Lairdmannoch Energy Park then hold an open meeting for villagers to express their opinions.
“The developers are to be invited to put their point of view.
“In order to present a balanced view, a representative of Hands Off Our Hills could be invited to provide information about the proposal’s impact on the environment in the area.
“The community council would then respond according to the wishes of the residents.”
Wind2 is seeking a scoping opinion from the Scottish Government on its Lairdmannoch Energy Park proposal.  https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/local-news/twynholm-community-council-hold-public-31153823?fbclid=IwAR0-IaRJYfwWIjeUrs6rNHWx5E6xBP4ATm3dwvFuLBmAJh6czSAupdlvLwI
