Residents will get a chance to share their views on plans for a windfarm in Alexandria next week.

Balloch and Haldane Community Council has organised a public meeting at 7pm on Monday (February 19) at St Kessog’s Church Hall to discuss the plans.

Glasgow based renewable energy company Coriolis Energy is behind the proposals, which would see up to 10 turbines of up to 250m in height built on land at Auchenreoch Muir.

If approved, the 70MW turbines would be the largest in Scotland.

The recently-reformed community council launched an online consultation on the proposed development, with more than 70 percent of 120 respondents against the plans.

Balloch and Haldane CC chair Lynne Somerville said she hopes for a big turnout at the meeting – but revealed that developers Coriolis turned down an invite to attend  https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/local-news/balloch-haldane-community-council-hold-32135640?fbclid=IwAR3oRl0oxYw5WhByYb8bgiVkZIj5ZhFrxZL2yQnBJ8A1uptYvXVbNSVm34Y
