Thank you very much for posting your consultation response. The SG document is long and hard to assimilate and conceals the true reasons for their exercise. I shall be using your interpretation in my response.
Another thing: you will certainly be aware of SP Energy’s proposal to place the very highest pylons and the highest voltage overhead lines across some of the most beautiful countryside in the Scottish Borders. I suspect their “preferred route” west of Galashiels is something to do with planned windfarm applications along the route down to the English Border. Are you planning to raise objections to this proposal (deadline extended to 23 December)? I know it’s not strictly to do with your remit for windfarms, but they are very much tied in with the overhead lines.

Hi Rob. No we are not making an objection to the overhead lines in the Borders, that is being done by the local groups in the Borders such as Keep the Scottish Borders Beautiful.
