ED Miliband has claimed that his policies will cut fuel bills across the UK by £300.
Even at this early stage, it’s clear that his energy plans will not cut bills, very much to the contrary. Many now believe the green dream of net zero has been built on gross exaggerations. In essence, it seems to mean taking huge sums of money in taxes from the working and middle classes of the developed countries and handing it to the rich of the developing nations.
Rather than more of this net zero masochism, we need less. Of course, we must face up to the consequences of climate change, but it should be done pragmatically and with realistic timescales.
Impoverishing the developed world will help no one and hurt the weakest most.
