I REALLY do like Elizabeth Marshall’s choice of words (Letters, December 18): “Massive intrusive and intermittent energyproducing wind farms with their associated pylons dominating the landscape” and her anger at “building huge unsustainable radiation-emitting batteries”.
Once upon a time our electricity was produced by reliable coal, gas and nuclear with no need for wind turbines. Then the Nasty Green Elves came into power and wind turbines were allowed to breed prolifically and there are now 11,000 which could only generate 31.6 per cent of our electricity in the last 12 months. Even worse, the Scottish Government overruled local councils which had refused planning permission for wind farms and now battery farms and allowed their construction to scar our Scottish heritage. Democracy no longer lives in Scotland.
