A £100 MILLION project to build pylons for a proposed power line in the Highlands will see a Scottish firm take on dozens of new staff.
Structural engineering company Had-Fab is creating 70 jobs as a direct result of work for SSEN Transmission for its planned Spittal to Beauly power line.
The line is part of a minimum of £22 billion SSEN is investing in upgrading electricity transmission infrastructure across the UK, with the work seen as vital to the delivery of renewable energy projects.
Energy Secretary Gillian Martin and the UK Government’s Scottish Secretary Ian Murray were both at a ceremony at Had-Fab’s site in Tranent, East Lothian, to mark the contract on Thursday.
