We can all relate to this. They will never protect nature if it hampers renewable energy development. Same with the Ecocide Bill, which aims to criminalize “unlawful or wanton acts” causing severe, widespread, or long-term environmental damage.
“THERE is a noticeable sense of weariness among us as young conservationists, as the Scottish Parliament passes the Natural Environment Bill – a landmark piece of legislation establishing legally binding targets to protect and restore nature. While the ambition is admirable, we’ve learnt the hard way that any nature-related government promise must be taken with a large pinch of salt.
When speaking to fellow young people living and working against the continued backdrop of nature decline, the common sentiment goes something like this: “Time and time again, the Scottish Government has promised to protect and restore nature, but when it comes round to it, they either kick the can down the road or give up altogether.”  https://www.thenational.scot/politics/25835202.nature-protection-needs-words—must-implemented/?fbclid=IwY2xjawP2q61leHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZBAyMjIwMzkxNzg4MjAwODkyAAEe_gBQxM7DTw-aID61eHiiEDguwcyvHd_JHntAzChAGoOv66MQ1dXshNbYix8_aem_zFbYfisJT_KnmGp0KdKWbw
