Our thanks to S O R E – Save Our Rural Environment for alerting us to the South Lanarkshire Council planning committee meeting at 10am on 24 Feb which can be watched live here
Officers have recommended that the application for Mossmulloch WF (4x200m turbines) be approved subject to conditions. However that was before the Court of Session judgement on Wull Muir was issued.
Planning Consultant and Energy Expert , Dr Chris Ford has written to planners ahead of the meeting to advise them that “These circumstances also apply to Mossmulloch. Most live wind farm applications (for Planning Permission and s36) in Scotland will be in a similar position. I suggest that you withdraw this Application from the next Planning Committee to review the situation.”
Officers have also recommended that the Committee should support our Petition to the Scottish Parliament on raising the 50MW. They have suggested the Council responds to the current Scottish Government Consultation by suggesting the threshold should be raised to 150MW.
