WIND turbines could be erected near the grounds of three local schools, according to early council proposals.

East Ayrshire Council has requested a feasibility study to look at the possibility of siting the structures close to Doon Academy, Catrine Primary School and Ochiltree Primary.

A notice published by Public Contracts Scotland reveals that the local authority is seeking a wind turbine design specialist to undertake a scoping exercise for the potential installation of a turbine at or around each of the school sites.

The study will assess several factors, including physical, topographical and environmental constraints, proximity to homes and sensitive receptors, access issues and noise constraints.  https://www.cumnockchronicle.com/news/25851575.wind-turbines-considered-sites-next-ayrshire-schools/?fbclid=IwY2xjawP9wzJleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZBAyMjIwMzkxNzg4MjAwODkyAAEeP05sAgC3FnZ5cqbf1mQWtXiGNf-qiChUofAjSZrHBVZ8vYOoh9uKGd9DiBY_aem_eN1HZbkoejdceIWXzAaoXA
