Net zero will cost Britain more than £125bn this decade, the Government’s own official advisers have said.
The Climate Change Committee (CCC) said the annual net cost of switching to green energy would rise from about £15bn in 2025 to a peak of more than £30bn by 2029.
The figures lay bare the total cost of net zero to the economy, including money spent by the Government, households and businesses, after accounting for benefits such as better air quality, higher efficiency and lower fuel costs.
