Plans to build a ‘skyscraper’-sized wind farm on the Ochil Hills has Perth and Kinross Council under fire after the local authority decided against objecting to the proposal.
Windburn Wind Farm would site 13 turbines with a maximum height of 150 metres, a 35MW battery energy storage unit and associated infrastructure, on the scenic landscape.
Part of the proposal falls within Perth and Kinross but at a planning meeting last month, a majority of councillors agreed to raise no objection with the Scottish Government’s Energy Consents Unit (ECU) who will make the final decision.
In contrast, Clackmannanshire Council – the only other local authority in which the proposal will sit – raised a former objection, believing the turbines will negatively impact the skyline of the Ochil Hills.  https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/politics/scottish-politics/5445058/skyscraper-wind-farm-ochil-hills/?fbclid=IwY2xjawQWF2dleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZBAyMjIwMzkxNzg4MjAwODkyAAEehm5Uv7b3wEtC0albp3BJqNonxYFKJhLRMxQeu9GysFKhkd6aPvH0NNgKRDo_aem_A2EkyfROnvbJUs-NyNvUFQ
