Plans for a windfarm near Moniaive face a major hurdle after air traffic safety experts ruled the development poses an unacceptable risk to flight radar operations.Troston Loch Windfarm has already been granted consent, and the land at Troston Estate is earmarked for 14 turbines up to 150m in blade tip height. The energy firm behind the project, Vantage RE, says that the windfarm will produce enough electricity to power around 40,000 homes annually. Work was expected to begin in December this year, but Vantage RE bosses are now seeking a delay and extension of planning permission (to change the design to 12 turbines at 220m) until 2028. However, a significant unexpected obstacle has appeared on their path – opposition from national air traffic safety organisation NATS Safeguarding  https://www.heraldscotland.com/news/26018236.major-hurdle-scots-windfarm-plans-deemed-risk-flights/?fbclid=IwY2xjawRKMjNleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZBAyMjIwMzkxNzg4MjAwODkyAAEeyBtyqwJwDVc-AK3M-TuO2aWfH8d1WFPCnSKv9ZThdY8wjFq7LuKG58IxC3M_aem_UllZi5TpkQHxRMjwYHs_NQ
