The head of a monastery on a Scottish island has attacked “money-grabbing” plans to build a wind farm off its coast with turbines as high as the Eiffel Tower.
Father Seraphim-Oran Aldea said the MachairWind development would dwarf the nearby island of Iona, where he founded its first Orthodox Christian monastery in more than a thousand years.
