At last after 10 months, the Scottish Government has published the Onshore electricity generation – Electricity Act threshold: summary consultation responses. This Consultation was in response to our Petition to the Scottish Parliament which, among other things, requested that the current 50MW threshold be raised in order to allow more local decision making with Ministers only focusing on the really major applications. We also insisted that local rejection of a development must be a key material consideration in the decision making process.
We haven’t scrutinised all of the responses yet but Q2 shows that the vast majority of respondents opted for raising the threshold to 150MW. Development, Property and Land Management Sector and Agents were the only category who disagreed. That was to be expected!
Great to see that so many of our members responded to the consultation.
