A HIGHLAND councillor has written to the Ethical Standards Commissioner seeking “clear guidance” on bias and conduct when councillors publicly express different views on renewable energy development.
Speaking to The Herald, Councillor Matthew Reiss described a climate at Highland Council’s north planning applications committee (NPAC) of
“virtually zero tolerance for any voices that express doubt, caution, or dissent”.
Last year, Mr Reiss, an independent councillor, resigned from the committee, saying the experience had caused him “some worry and stress” and also “frustration and disbelief”.  https://www.heraldscotland.com/news/26705600.highland-councillor-seeks-guidance-renewables-bias/?fbclid=IwY2xjawVdHXlleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBwZG9mAXNydGMGYXBwX2lkEDIyMjAzOTE3ODgyMDA4OTIAAR_xJB-rlVpViJNnobuMq0Av4-Pw8_B0o4P7g7PBnaH8LKY-N1q0aAV78NLWbQ_aem_KbH1odhoIsDRDsjOaOByzA
